CENTELLA ASIATICA (Gotu Kola)
General Description

Popularly known as ‘Gotukola’ is a herbaceous perennial plant, native of India, China, Indonesia, Australia, the South Pacific, Madagascar and Southern and Middle Africa . It prefers marshy areas and river banks. The aerial parts are harvested throughout the year.
Active Principle

The extract is taken from the leaves of Centella. The active principles namely the triterpenoids and saponins are extracted from the leaves of Centella. These include pharmacologically active Asiaticoside, Madecassoside, Asiatic acid.
